Oti Region

The Oti Region, created in 2019 with its capital at Dambai, is one of Ghana’s most naturally scenic, off-the-beaten-path destinations. Bound by the Oti River and Lake Volta to the west and the Republic of Togo to the east, the region features a landscape of lush hills, forest-savanna transitions, and vibrant riverbank communities. It is rich in cultural diversity, shaped by various traditional festivals, farming, and thriving fishing industries along its waterways.

For tourists, the standout attraction is Kyabobo National Park near Nkwanta, which offers hiking trails, wildlife, and panoramic views near Mount Djebobo. Another landmark is Shiare, known as the "Hanging Village," an ancient settlement tucked high into the Kyabobo mountain range featuring traditional stone architecture. Visitors can also explore the bustling river life and eco-tourism hubs around Dambai, as well as scenic waterfalls like the Shiare Waterfalls, making the region an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventurers.
